Combine your love and knowledge of quantitative data analysis across very large data sets with solid presentation skills to make data make sense.
Partner with product, marketing, user experience, and engineering teams to identify, define, to solve problems and implement decisions.
Make proposals about what to build next on the roadmap.
Build models of user behaviors to help drive understanding of our member ecosystem.

Exceptional knowledge of, and extensive experience with, SQL for data analytics, loading, and transformation. Preference given for experience with Postgres or Redshift SQL
Intermediate knowledge of Python or R, especially data analytics packages such as Pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn
3+ years experience in data analytics or data science, or experience in a suitable advanced analytic domain (analytic-driven research, etc.)
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of classification & regression with a focus on segmenting users based on behavioral characteristics and predicting specific user behaviors and events (for instance, predicting when and whether a user will churn or engage in a specific behavior)

The ideal candidate has:
Ability to work with large data sets. GasBuddy has seven years of mobile data and our datasets are growing daily. Sometimes companies say Big Data when they mean “a few hundred million rows.” This isn’t that. We have many tables and data sources with several billion rows.
Experience with spark for data analytics, transformation, and machine learning. PySpark preferred, but Java or Scala API acceptable.
Experience working with Python in a production software development role.
Knowledge of mobile-app specific KPIs such as MMAU, MDAU, retention (daily and monthly cohorts), DTR, downloads, and construction of user flow funnels.
Familiarity with automation platforms such as Jenkins
Familiarity with source control platforms, primarily GitHub, and data engineering & development best practices
