GasBuddy, the leading price-comparison gas app and website with over 60 million downloads and 11 million monthly unique visitors is looking for a Senior Developer to join the team. You’ll be pulling things apart and tinkering, building new platforms, and continuously improving the development culture. You will be responsible for configuration and deployment of software packages to various environments, and for supporting ongoing software operations that enable business critical functions. You will also be collaborating to coordinate necessary infrastructure, system administration, database, and information security changes. In addition to technical skills, we're looking for developers who can communicate clearly and express ideas in verbal discussion, client communication, technical documentation and architectural reviews.
What You’ll Do:
Be a mentor to team members on good operational practices
Follows best practices during design, debug, build, and deployment
Build out new features and iterate on existing features
Implement practical solutions to large-scale problems
Work on challenging projects that require you to be constantly mastering new skills and technologies
Setting up database and other open source software (Postgres, Spark, Storm, Elasticsearch, etc...)
Strong knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it
API development (REST/JSON)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-based environment
Ability to balance detail oriented work with important project deadlines
Knowledge of web services and data driven application architecture
Recommend and implement best practices for application support in production environments
Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially within website, application servers, network, and databases
